If you're interested in having me make a special quilt for you, please give me a call or send an email. To give you an idea of what to expect price-wise, below are some guidelines I use to quote custom projects.

Name Quilts - Traditional

What I call "traditional" name quilts are rectangular in shape, generally 12" high, and about 30 or so inches long, depending on the number of letters in the name. The binding is a traditional quilt binding. The hanging mechanism is normally hidden loops on the back, such as the sample shown here, and would come with a dowel rod hanger, cut to fit the finished quilt with screw-eyes on each end. If you prefer, I can make the loops "hang tab" style or use ribbon on the front (see Aurora and Danica samples in the Name Quilt photo gallery) in which you would probably want to use a commercial rod or hooks. Cost for the traditional name quilt is $40 for up to 5 letters, plus $5 for each additional letter. Hand stitched embellishments, such as beads or the hardware I added to Kyle's quilt, would be extra, and quoted on a case-by-case basis.

Name Quilts - Fancy

My "fancy" border name quilts are slightly larger than the traditional quilts, and have an irregular Zig-Zag shape outlined by two different fabrics chosen to compliment the rest of the quilt, as shown here. Also, it is finished with an "envelope" style or "invisible" binding with a hanging sleeve across the entire back. A dowel rod with brass eye-screws for hanging is included. Pricing is the same as the Traditional Name Quilts, plus an extra $15 for the fancy border.

Functional Quilts

In addition to artistic quilted wall hangings, I also love to make "real" quilts, or what I think of as Functional Quilts... Something you can put on your bed, or wrap up in while you read a book or watch TV. Below are some ideas of what I might charge for a basic pieced quilt of varying sizes. More difficult piecing, or artistic applique quilts are also available, but may cost more. For any custom quilt project, we would discuss your ideas first, I would estimate the difficulty of the project and cost of materials required, and I would give you a specific quote prior to beginning work on the project. Sizes shown are approximate, finished products can be slightly different from target sizes.
